CAFONTS.EXE - PostScript Check-All-Fonts.
Windows Version 1.1 Nov 1992
written by Ivan Gonzalez, CIS 72540,433
What is new?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
- In this version a bug was fixed that prevented the program from
reading the FONTNAME from the printer font file properly in
printer font files converted from the MAC.
- A bug was fixed that prevented the program from reading Coreldraw
PostScript PFMs properly.
- Reports can now be output directly to the printer.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
CAFONTS.EXE is a font verification and search utility that will
help you verify your PostScript font files (PFB - Printer Font Files,
PFM - Windows Metric Files and AFM - Adobe Font Metric Files)
Check-All-Fonts was written in Visual Basic 1.0 so you would need
the Visual Basic Run Time Library "VBRUN100.DLL" this file can be
found in CIS, MSBASIC Forum, LIB 5 as VBRUN.ZIP
You will have to locate the directories where you keep your PFBs,
PFMs and AFMs (optional) files with the Drive, Directories and
Files navigation dialog boxes. Once found press the respective
button to select them.
You can send CAFONTS results to a file ("CAFONTS.TXT") and/or directly
to the default printer. Just select the respective checkboxes in
CAFONTS main screen.
The 'Clear All' button will clear all options selected.
You can save your directories locations by selecting the 'Save CFG'
menu option and Load them back choosing the 'Load CFG' menu option.
When all the directories are selected, press 'Go!' to start checking.
CAFONTS will search the indicated directories for each type of file
and create a table, sorted by file name.
First it will step one by one through the PFB list and search for its
corresponding companions (PFM and AFM files), then it will read the
PostScript font name from each file to make sure they match. You will
get an error message in the 'status' box followed by a beep to warn
you of missing files or files with PostScript names that do not
correspond, press 'Continue' to go on.
The same procedure will be repeated with the PFMs and AFMs list. Files
already check in previous steps will be skipped.
I would like to hear of any problems with CAFONTS.EXE as well as
suggestions to improve it.
CAFONTS was written by Ivan Gonzalez and is uploaded to Compuserve as
freeware.
This program is provided "AS IS". No Warranties!
Anybody can distribute CAFONTS freely as long as this DOC file is
included and not charge is made for it.
